Rick and Joran
We are Rick and Joran. Two enthusiastic young men who enjoy both cheese and inventing. With e-slicer we are bringing the new generation of kitchen tools to the market. All tools that make it easier or nicer to use them. It all started with the heated cheese slicer...
lots of toasted sandwiches
The e-slicer was created at the kitchen table of the student house, where a lot of sandwiches were eaten. Rick and Joran met each other during their student years. During creative sessions there was only one dish that always came back: the sandwich - and that got the men thinking. Because with a regular cheese slicer the entire cheese will be destroyed! Cracks, fragments, bleeding fingers... Is there no other way?
a new invention
Rick and Joran therefore came up with the heated cheese slicer. By heating the slicing blade, you melt a micro layer of the cheese, making it much easier to slide through the cheese. They tested the idea extensively by heating different cheese slicers to make a difference. And indeed, even the dullest old cheese slicer went smoothly through the cheese when it was heated.

In 2023, Rick and Joran participated in a TV program for inventors. In this program, several participants presented new products to make life easier. Including the heated kitchen tool. After an intense process and a blood-curdling final, Rick and Joran achieved second place.
2nd prize
With the development budget they won, they then set up production for this innovative new product. And it worked!
The heated kitchen tool is expected to be available online by the end of summer 2024.
cheese in your blood
It was not completely unexpected. Decades ago, Joran's ancestors already had a milk and cheese shop in Haarlem: the Haarlemsche Melkartikelen of J. Verdel. There was his grandmother behind the counter. The store still exists, although it has changed a bit: it now operates under the name Het Oude Zuivelhuis. But still in the same warm place in Haarlem.
